"All the fucking grown-ups make it hard to put on gigs for 'em, so bands are probs just like 'Nah fuck it.'"
Skegss have stood up for their younger fan contingent today by adding a handful of U18s shows to their upcoming 'Holiday Food' EP tour, at a time where teens struggle to find venues they can actually attend.
Bassist Toby Cregan says, "There isn't enough shows put on for kids and all the fucking grown-ups make it hard to put on gigs for 'em, so bands are probs just like 'Nah fuck it.'
"We have put in a bit of extra work and made sure we can play to everyone that wants to listen and have a good time.... If I hadn't gone to the all ages shows that my fave bands were putting on when I was a teenager I wouldn't be in the band now, so it seems important to play these shows on the tour."
The Byron Bay trio have added under-18 shows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth in the daytime for their underage fans, as well as an under-18s festival called Sydney For Spaghetti Fest at the Oxford Art Factory featuring sets from Baxter, Flowertruck, Fritz, Good Boy, Ruby Fields and The Pinheads and more.
