The infectious single features a scorching guitar solo, and shows us more of what to expect from her upcoming third album.
Saoirse Dream (Bandcamp)
Genre-bending up-and-comer saoirse dream has swung through with her first release for 2024, an entrancing new single titled i want it all (trophy).
It comes as our third preview of charm – Catherine Egbert’s third album under the saoirse dream moniker – following the release of catherine never broke again last February and down in flames last October. A release date for the album is yet to be announced, but it’s expected to arrive sometime before the year’s end via LAUREN RECORDS.
In a post on their website, the label describe i want it all as “the rally cry for a decades-long pursuit of stardom”. It’s said to be “an assertion and a confession” from Egbert, “an author determined to take what she is owed versus a reality geared against her”.
When it’s eventually released, charm will serve as the proper follow-up to Egbert’s cult-beloved star★☆ album, which she dropped in November 2022 on the back of singles like sellout (a collaborative effort with soupandreas), honest (with daywaiter) and wdyct (with torr).
2023 also saw Egbert link up with a stack of her peers in both the hyperpop and indie-rock scenes. She featured on Survivor by JovyForeign in April, followed by Red Blue and Green Lights by bh in June, then three more songs in September (Passerine by sylva woolf, Purgatory by Lilac Heart and They shoot horses, don’t they? by GRIMVVICE), another two in November (Open House by nolaine and Notebook by Phixel), and two more in December (Your Crying Made Me Miss Grand Finals by Maddison Hailstorm and Hailing by godparticle).
