On Monday, 22 May, TMZ will air its latest documentary, TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price Of Freedom. While some people might be looking forward to watching the program, the singer’s husband Sam Asghari certainly isn’t, labelling the upcoming documentary “disgusting”.

Taking to Instagram in a now-deleted video on Sunday night – just hours after the tabloid outlet published an article claiming the couple’s marriage was in “deep trouble” – Asghari said, “I found it absolutely disgusting for the people who were in her life when she didn't have a voice, they went and told her story like it was theirs,” per Music News.

“It was absolutely disgusting.” Asghari went on to describe his wife’s previous conservatorship and asked, “How are you going to take the most influential person of her generation, the Princess of Pop, America's sweetheart, and put her in prison where her father [Jamie Spears] tells her what to do, what water to drink, who to see and use her as a money-making machine?”

He continued, “All of a sudden - after 15 years when she's free after all those gaslighting, all those things that went down - now you're going to put her under a microscope and tell her story?

"Don't believe what you read online. 99% of the time, those are all clickbait [stories] for you to click and for them to make money, and that time is over. I'm not gonna allow that.

“The gaslighting and shit has to stop.”

Earlier this year, Britney Spears left a restaurant after patrons allegedly recorded her without her consent

According to TMZ, Spears "had a bizarre meltdown" at an LA restaurant after fans recorded her. She attempted to hide her face with a menu and grew visibly upset. The outlet also reported that Spears was "manic" and "talking gibberish”.

As Jacklyn Krol at PopCrush wrote, "Some believe that Spears was experiencing a 'manic episode,' though this remains unconfirmed and unethical to speculate about on the basis of medical privacy and mental health."

Spears left the restaurant quickly after her husband, Sam Asghari, left, and her bodyguard paid the bill.
