Beloved Melbourne drummer and member of Simpsons-themed stoner rock band Dr Colossus, Nathan Johnston has passed away.

The band’s vocalist and guitarist, Jono Colliver, released a statement on the Dr Colossus Facebook page this afternoon.

“The last couple of days have been incredibly hard to wrap our heads around. It doesn't feel real,” Colliver said.

“We are thinking constantly of Nath's beautiful wife Kate and the entire family. We send love and support to them all.”

“Enjoy life and enjoy the music Nathan Johnston created and left in his legacy."

Prior to his work with Dr Colossus, Johnston played in indie-rock outfit Kashmere Club.
