Rami Malek Looks Spot On As Freddie Mercury In New Pics From Upcoming Queen Biopic

It's uncanny.

More Queen Queen

20th Century Fox has released official photos that show actor Rami Malek's uncanny transformation into Freddie Mercury for upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Two new photos surfaced on Instagram today, one featuring Malek with Gwilym Lee who plays Brian May and another in front of a stadium crowd with EastEnders' Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor and Joseph Mazzello as John Deacon.

The film was originally meant to star Sasha Baron Cohen as Mercury with Malek stepping in after Baron Cohen dropped out in 2013.

Controversy arose at the end of 2017 when production was halted due to former director Bryan Singer went AWOL for three days. Singer was quickly removed from the film and replaced by UK filmmaker Dexter Fletcher.

Bohemian Rhapsody will hit theatres in the US on 2 November with no official reports confirming if Australia will receive the same release date.
