A couple of new leaders, but very much business as usual in many ways.

The fourth round of Metropolitan Radio Ratings were released today, with commercial networks tussling as per usual while triple j remains steady just about everywhere.

Check out the first, second and third ratings announcements here.

Triple J has had a solid season, enjoying small gains in markets almost entirely across the country, up 0.3% in Sydney, 0.4% in Melbourne and Brisbane and 0.6% in Perth. Adelaide was the only market where they suffer, losing around 0.2% of their overall audience.

Nova weren't so lucky; their only gains were in Brisbane, where they managed to increase their share by around 0.8% to become Brisbane's most popular station, and Adelaide with a mere 0.1% increase. Everywhere else they lost ground, with their most significantly impacted territory the Sydney market, which saw them lose 0.5% of their listenership.

But it's fellow Austereo station Triple M that seem to have worn the worst impact in the recent ratings, with no gains anywhere around the country and a couple of significant drops. They retained their 6.4% market share in the Sydney market, but suffered a 0.2% drop in Melbourne and a 0.7% drop in the Brisbane market. None of these seem slightly significant when put beside Adelaide, though, the station losing a whopping 2% of their audience in the South Australian capital, It seems all of those people have switched to Mix 102.3, who now dominate the market with a 16.8% market share, up 2.3% from the previous ratings period.

Brisbane's B105 also took something of a hit, losing 1.6% of its share, perhaps explaining Nova's gain – and eventual win – in the Brisbane market.

Despite a 1.7% drop, 2GB still owns the Sydney market with its 13% share, though 2Day FM are comfortably leading the non-talk set with 8.7% (up 0.2% from the last ratings). Melbourne is talk dominated as well, with Fox FM comfortably holding its place on the top of the music focused stations. Mix 102.3's huge gains has them absolutely dominating Adelaide's market with 16.8% of the city's radio love being shown to them, while 96FM in Perth is the new most popular station in the Western capital, its 0.8% gain seeing them overtaking MIX 94.5, who lost a point in this most recent period.
