Queens Of The Stone Age have added an intimate concert at Hobart’s Nolan Gallery to their expansive Australian tour in support of two charities. The proceeds will be split evenly between the Royal Hobart Hospital Children’s Services and 24 Carrot Gardens.

In addition to their sold-out Lawns performance at Mona Foma, Queens Of The Stone Age will perform at Hobart’s Nolan Gallery on Thursday, 15 February. While ticket proceeds will be split between the charities, additional fees will be waived.

Punters will receive an exclusive tour poster for the performance – you can find tickets now via the Mona Foma website.

The Royal Hobart Hospital Children’s Services provides inpatient and outpatient services to infants, children and teens dealing with acute and chronic conditions across southern Tasmania. The services include specialised units for Paediatric Medicine, Paediatric Surgery, and an onsite Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team.

Meanwhile, 24 Carrot Gardens educates children regarding health, well-being, and lifelong learning. Through the charity, gardens are established in schools and communities, assisting children in growing and cooking healthy, natural produce.

In a press release, Queens Of The Stone Age vocalist and guitarist Josh Homme spoke of the importance of contributing to children’s charities and how fatherhood inspired taking on the benefit performance.

“I’m a father of three; that’s my favourite thing in the world. As you travel around, I see a lot of really nice places, but I see a lot of dark places too,” Homme explained. “You’re only a kid once, you’re an adult your whole life… I also want to play acoustically. I love to play the MONA. It’s a chance to do something nice, and this is a situation where it’s very simple to do something nice.”
