Purity Ring Unveil First Australian Shows In Ten Years

Canadian electronic pop duo Purity Ring are heading to Australia this winter for their first shows Down Under in a decade.

Already delivering a sold-out show at Hobart’s Odeon Theatre as part of this year’s Dark Mofo program, Purity Ring have joined the Open Season program, performing at Brisbane’s The Tivoli. They’ve also added another two dates to their itinerary.

In addition to their festival dates, the duo will perform at Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Thursday, 11 June, and Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Saturday, 13 June.

The Spotify pre-sale for the Melbourne and Sydney shows commences on Monday, 13 April, at 10 am AEST, followed by the Artist pre-sale on Tuesday, 14 April, at 10 am AEST – head to the band’s website for more details. In September, Purity Ring – multi-instrumentalist/producer Corin Roddick and vocalist Megan James – released their self-titled fourth album. Today, they’ve unveiled the single lemonlime, lifted from the album sessions.

The last release of this era, lemonlime is described as “a song of survival – a sad dream, if you wake up.” It’s also an extension of the album’s overarching theme: searching for goodness in the dark and detailing the experience of caring for someone with chronic illness.
