Sunny, '60s inspired psych-pop courtesy of Australian-born, Greece-based artist Montero is the feature of this edition of 'Living Under A Rock'.

MONTERO'S most recent single, 'Vibrations', is the the sunny psych-pop at the centre of this edition of 'Living Under A Rock', the part of the Purple Sneakers show on FBi Radio that momentarily steps out of the club to highlight what's good in the world of rock, pop, indie, and everything else.

Produced by Ben Montero himself, with help from former housemate Jay Watson (Gum, POND, Tame Impala) and Grammy award winning engineer Riccardo Damian, 'Vibrations' was recorded at Mark Ronson's London studio. With such a talented team on hand, it's no wonder the tune is so wonderfully layered with lush psych-pop elements and a noticeable nod to the golden era of late '60s love songs. While Jay Watson's influence is evident, 'Vibrations' has a big heart to it that's undeniably Montero's. The thick synths and fuzzy guitars sit under surprisingly clear vocals that carry soaring, anthemic melodies through huge, layered build ups.

Out through Chapter Music, the rest of Montero's upcoming record is due in early 2018. Alongside his music, he's also been busy creating cartoons and artworks for everything from personal projects to albums, merch, and poster designs for artists like POND, Kurt Vile, and Mac DeMarco, the latter of whom he's touring with in Europe this November. The Australian-born, Greece-based artist's works are vividly colourful, detailed, and intricate, reflecting the psychedelic tinge to his music. The stunning creations feature all sorts of animals and characters, often depicted in everyday contexts that occasionally have a kooky bend to them. They're well worth a look at his website, here.
