More POW! Negro POW! Negro

Yesterday afternoon the band POW! Negro announced that their show last Friday would be the last under that moniker.

Posting on Instagram and Facebook, the band described that they were in a state of metamorphosis before expressing their disbelief of the success they have received and thanking fans for the overwhelming support.

Touted as the next big thing, the Perth outfit had a massive 2017 including getting kudos at BIGSOUND, packing out shows across Australia and opening the stage for Midnight Oil’s Fremantle show – with their live show earning them a spot in theMusic’s top gigs of 2017. On top of all of that, the band found time to join forces with other WA acts to put out a compilation album, raising funds and awareness for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.

Fans took to the band’s social media to share feelings of confusion and despair so let’s hope this is not the last we hear from the boys. Read the full statement below.
