Chugg Music have signed the band Midnight Til Morning, a band you might recognise from the hit Netflix series, Building The Band. And, as fans know, One Direction’s Liam Payne was a mentor for the group before his passing.
The band comprises young people from Australia and the US, including 22-year-old Conor Smith from the Central Coast, New South Wales, 25-year-old Mason Watts from Toowoomba, Queensland, and another pair of 22-year-olds: Shane Appell from Upstate New York, and Zach Newbould from Boston, Massachusetts.
Since their formation, Midnight Til Morning have experienced explosive growth through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, as well as streaming services. They’ve signed to Chugg Music for both global management and label services as Chugg Music CEO Andrew Stone oversees the group’s strategy and development.
Michael Chugg also brings decades of experience in working with the band, as Midnight Til Morning join an impressive roster of artists, including Lime Cordiale, Sheppard, Casey Barnes, Go-Jo and many more. The group have also locked in a publicist in Trent Titmarsh (TT Publicity).
In a statement shared exclusively with The Music, Andrew Stone and Michael Chugg described Midnight Til Morning as the “hardest working band” they’ve met.

“Chuggi and I first heard the band when they all flew back to meet us following the filming with Netflix,” the pair said. “Mason Watts had told us how committed he was to the group, and it took us one meeting to instantly see the chemistry, friendship and dedication from all the boys (plus a few funny stories).
“However, once they got into the studio and started recording and writing together, we were totally blown away. They’re the hardest-working band I’ve met, and being so young with such time ahead of them. They’ve barely had a week to themselves in 9 months, preparing for the launch of the show and getting the live show, video, and music ready for launch. We believe the future is very bright for MTM.”
Midnight Til Morning will drop their debut single, BYE, next Wednesday (6 August). The track was written by music superstar Benson Boone, hit songwriters Amy Allen (Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae), Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes, Dua Lipa), Elie Rizk (Benson Boone, Noah Cyrus), and the band members themselves.
In addition to the roster of songwriters, BYE was produced by Rizk with Grammy-nominated JT Daly (K. Flay, PVRIS), with a music video set to follow, directed by Josh Harris (Peach PRC, Go-Jo). You can pre-save the track here.
@midnighttilmorning Today marks the 15 year anniversary of One Direction. During BTB @Liam Payne was a huge inspiration and was so willing to help us on our journey. We wanted to share something with you to celebrate him and 1D 🫶 #onedirection
