Following the building's sale in November last year.
The site of popular Melbourne nightclub Room 680 is set to become a Chemist Warehouse.
A source has confirmed to The Music that the building, which is located at 680 Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn, is due to be taken over by the pharmacy chain following its sale in November last year. It was first listed for sale back in November 2016.
It appears that the club quietly closed its doors without fanfare in May this year, with social media accounts ceasing to post past 14 May and the venue's phone number no longer in operation.
The Music has reached out to Boroondara City Council which has confirmed there are currently no planning or development requests in place for the Heritage Overlay listed building.
The nightclub opened back in 2001, with its website reporting patronage of 3,000 people weekly. The building currently has a 7am liquor licence in place for up to 900 patrons.
In 2016, Room 680 was the target of a police investigation following the drug-related deaths of a 19-year-old female in May 2015 and a 17-year-old male in July 2016.
