With the Sunshine Coast Music Awards returning next weekend (7 June), plans for the evening’s entertainment have been confirmed.

Today, the Sunshine Coast Music Industry Collective (SCMIC) has revealed the live performers who will soundtrack this year’s event, taking place at The Shed in Palmview next Sunday.

The evening will feature performances from local outfits such as Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe, Chris Cobb, Cora, The Phosphenes, 8 Ball Aitken, and Buttermello, each showcasing the depth and diversity of the Sunshine Coast’s thriving music scene.

The award ceremony, which returns for a second year after a successful inaugural edition last year, will unite local artists, venues, music workers and industry professionals. Gates open at 4 pm, with live music kicking off from 5:15 pm, followed by the main awards ceremony at 6 pm.

Attendees will also enter the running to win a lucky door prize: a double pass to this year’s Woodford Folk Festival. Locals can attend via a range of ticketing options, including VIP packages and single ticket options. Tickets are selling fast – secure yours here.

Finalists for this year’s awards span eleven categories, including prestigious selections such as Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Live Act of the Year, Artwork of the Year, Rising Star, and more. In terms of the music industry, the awards also honour Recording Studio of the Year, Venue of the Year, and Punter of the Year.
