It’s been a big week for the legendary Paul McCartney, with his latest collaboration with Kanye West, FourFiveSeconds, smashing its way to the top of the Singles Chart.

The track, which features Rihanna, climbed its way to first place following their performance of it at the Grammys, and sees McCartney, at 72 years old, becoming the oldest person to reach #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

It also marks the first time in 37 years since McCartney’s last appearance on an Australian number one single, last topping the Singles Chart here back in 1978 with Wings’ Mull Of Kintyre.

Beck’s win/run-in with West at the Grammys has also thrust Morning Phase back into the charts (24).

As midweek figures predicted, the soundtrack for 50 Shades Of Grey debuted at #1 on the Album Charts, despite mixed reviews of the film itself.

50 Shades topping the charts has bumped Taylor Swift to second place, with fellow big name acts Sam Smith (#3) and Ed Sheeran (#4) still dominating the charts.

Other debuts in this week's Album Chart included: Diana Krall's Wallflower (#7); Bob Dylan's Shadows In The Night (#8); Kid Ink's Full Speed (#15); Fifth Harmony's Refection (#16); Roxette's RoxBox compilation (#20); Neil Finn's iTunes Sessions (#31); Kodaline's Coming Up For Air (#37); The Wiggles' Rock & Roll Pre-School (#43) and Father John Misty's I Love You Honeybear (#50).
