The music line-up for the NRL and NRLW Grand Finals has grown, going Australian (and New Zealand) with extra acts announced this week.

Last month, it was announced that The Kid LAROI would headline the NRL Grand Final entertainment, but he won’t be the only one providing musical entertainment on the big days.

As Sony Music Australia reveals, Australian-New Zealand reggae brothers COTERIE will perform Dave Dobbyn’s classic tune, Slice Of Heaven, on Nine’s NRLW Grand Final coverage from 3:30 pm this Sunday (6 October).

Country music icon Troy Cassar-Daley will perform Some Days as part of Nine’s NRL Grand Final coverage during the in-memoriam segment from 6:45 pm, and The Kid LAROI will play the hits for the NRL Grand Final from 7 pm.

You can tune in to the NRL and NRLW Grand Finals on Channel Nine and Kayo this weekend, with coverage and entertainment rolling from 3 pm AEST. Both big games will be held at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.

While The Kid LAROI is a South Rabbitohs supporter and this year’s NRL Grand Final is between the Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers, he’s still elated to perform at the event.

The Kid LAROI outlined just how special the experience is for him by explaining, “As a young kid growing up in Sydney, I would drive past Rabbitohs training at Redfern Oval dreaming of playing Rugby League and making music, and now I’m going to have this pinch myself moment of playing my music in front of a roaring crowd of Rugby League fans on Grand Final day. It really doesn’t get much better than that.”

National Rugby League CEO Andrew Abdo added, “The Kid LAROI personifies the energy, excitement and ambition of Rugby League as we celebrate the end of another record-breaking season and look to take Rugby League to new frontiers in the future.

“He is one of the biggest music stars on the planet, and he also has Rugby League in his DNA, having grown up in South Sydney and followed his beloved Rabbitohs from a very young age. He is set to supercharge an unbelievable day of Grand Final football.”

Following his NRL Grand Final headlining performance, The Kid LAROI will tour across Australia next month. You can find more details about the tour here.
