Staff Writer

The country's only jazz specific awards ceremony

Nominations are now open for the 2014 Australian Jazz Bell Awards, the country's only jazz music specific awards.

The awards, established 11 years ago, recognise excellence in local jazz community across a range of categories from Best Australian Modern Jazz Album to Best Australian Contemporary 'Avant-garde' Jazz Album. One artist will also be honoured with the Graeme Bell Hall Of Fame award, named after the local jazz icon who passed away in 2012.

Nominations will close on Friday 14 February, with the awards to be held on Thursday 1 May at The Plaza Ballroom, Regent Theatre in Melbourne.

For more information, head to the Jazz Bell official website.
