2017 marks New Found Glory's 20th-anniversary, and they'll be back here in August for multiple album shows around the country.
New Found Glory and the pop-punk genre have been synonymous for over two decades now. In that time, the band have been out our way a scary number of times.
As such, later this year, the genre veterans will be heading back to Australia for the first time since 2015 this August for their '20 Years Of Pop Punk Anniversary' tour; celebrating two decades as a band together by playing two classic albums in full each night for multiple evenings of nostalgia and infectious pop punk anthems.

For this headline tour, each night New Found Glory will play two select albums from their pre-2010 discography (AKA the good stuff) in full, not unlike what Underoath just did earlier this month.
Come this August, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane will be treated to one night each of 2002's seminal 'Sticks And Stones' and 2004's damn fine 'Catalyst'. Not bad, not bad indeed! However, Sydney will get two nights with that album that has 'My Freinds Over You' on it and their self-titled on the first night, followed by 'Catalyst' and a full set showcasing 2009's solid 'Not Without A Fight' on the second. Then the very, very lucky fuckers in my own neck of the woods - Melbourne - will be treated to their entire pre-2010 catalogue with 'Sticks And Stones'/'Coming Home' (night one), 'Catalyst'/'Not Without A Fight' (night two) and then their 2000 self-titled record and their debut release, 'Nothing Gold Can Stay' will go down on the final night of this grand anniversary tour; showing off just how far the band have come since their beginnings.
Now, while I would most certainly label 'Catalyst' and 'Sticks & Stones' classic releases for the pop-punk realm, and 'Not Without A Fight' is definitely up there for both the genre and NFG, I would not say the same thing about their self-titled effort, 'Nothing Gold Can Stay', nor 'Coming Home'. Either way, NFG are a very fun, very tight live act, so I expect that a handful of these shows will be bound to sell out!
Also on the topic of albums - just not the ones that people seem to care a great deal about - the band are currently gearing up to release their 9th studio album, 'Makes Me Sick', on April 28th via Hopeless Records/Unified.
...Which will probably all be forgotten about in Australia come the end of this year because they literally just announced an Aussie tour featuring full sets of some of their best albums, and there's been no news on whether they'll be playing any of those new songs live, anyway. (One of those new songs, 'Happy Being Miserable' can be found below if you're interested.)
So, a brand new album is coming out in April and your band just announced an August Australian tour celebrating 20 years as a band where you're playing the only albums that a majority of die-hard and casual fans cared about, ones that will most likely still be their favourites come this new release dropping? I mean, if that's not good marketing, then I don't fucking know what is!
That last part was sarcasm if you couldn't tell.
