You're welcome, Coburg.
In what is being considered a huge boost to Melbourne's music and arts scene, a new event space is launching in Coburg, the Coburg Velodrome, which will also play host to the Freedom Time festival next month.
In what is arguably the event's biggest line-up yet, acclaimed DJ Jeremy Underground will make his Australian debut at the festival, alongside a number of acts that include Sadar Bahar, Hugo Mendez, Wax'o Paradiso and more.
Speaking to theMusic today, the Velodrome's Chris Mitchell said the event space will host a number of different functions, as well as live music performances.
"Our intention is to develop it into sort of a multi-purpose event space," Mitchell said.

"...We've got a whole plethora of events booked in for our calendar."
Mitchell co-ran another Melbourne establishment, Red Bennies, for four years, which was a renowned arts institution in the area.
"We want to see something similar happen with this space," Mitchell said.
"In terms of arts and music culture, but also lifestyle culture."
In partnership with the Coburg Cycling Club, established in 1976, Mitchell hopes for the space to make an immediate impact
"And also an impact on the local community, in a good way, that is going to transform the identity of that area…" he said.
Freedom Time #3 will take place on Saturday, 5 March. For details on tickets, head to the event website.
