Blur Premiere New Songs

Hear them here if you missed their overnight online performance.

As promised, Blur premiered the two tracks which will make up their forthcoming double A-side single in a live stream online last night, performing from a secret UK location. The songs, Under The Westway and The Puritan were both written for the band's forthcoming Hyde Park performance which comes at the tail end of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

For those who didn't want to stay up to be the first to see them, both songs appeared on the band's official YouTube channel not long after the performance, so you can bet there has been a bit of Blur water cooler in offices around the country today. The method of delivery certainly seems to have worked initially if they were looking to capture some widespread online presence, with the band trending on Twitter for most of the day.

What do you think of the tunes?

Here's the rather tender Under The Westway.

And the poppier, somewhat more vibrant The Puritan.
