'The connections made between young artists and their mentors often last long after the festival..."
Already having announced their 2016 festival patron Suzannah Espie last week, today Mullum Music Festival have unveiled their mentors for their seventh Youth Mentorship Program.
Espie will be playing a double role this year as the festival patron and Singer/Songwriter Mentor, while Byron Bay's Natalli Rize will head up the role of Band Mentor. Northern Rivers singer/songwriter Shelley Brown will mentor the Vocal category, while roots band Two Lions' Chris Mallory will mentor the Under-15 category of musicians.
The Youth Mentorship Program is open to budding musos 21 years and under and aims to foster their music career. Winners in each category will score a mentorship session, backstage access to their mentor's show, festival passes and a slot playing Mullum Music Festival.
Festival Director Glenn Wright says, "The Youth Mentorship Program is at the heart of what we do at Mullum Music Festival. For young musicians seeking to find a path in the music industry, a mentor can be life changing.
