Melbourne/Naarm artist MUDRAT has released an impressive string of singles in the last year, all of which have amounted to the highly anticipated release of his debut album.

The punk/hip-hop fusion artist will release his debut album, Social Cohesion, on Friday, 29 August. In support of the album, MUDRAT has announced the Social Cohesion tour and dropped the new single, FME (F*ck My Enemies), featuring Sydney/Eora rapper BVT.

FME was born in a rapid and intense journey, which began after MUDRAT performed a sold-out performance at Sydney’s Hollywood Hotel, where BVT was the opening act. The next day, the pair teamed up with producer Joey Plunkett and MUDRAT’s band to create the song in just one studio session.

The single showcases MUDRAT’s signature punk energy, with pulsating riffs and drums calling back to the legendary The Prodigy. The riff-heavy chorus draws from nu-metal inspirations as MUDRAT and BVT offer an epic call-and-response dynamic. It’s a thrilling listen that never overstays its welcome.

BVT described the collaboration as “a direct and powerful response to the escalating global civil unrest, crafted with the intent to empower listeners to stand defiant and resist all systems of oppression.”

MUDRAT added, “The song ultimately champions self-love, self-care, and personal advocacy, urging listeners to fiercely challenge any force or individual that seeks to diminish their inner fire and light.”

The Social Cohesion tour begins at Beechworth’s Wonder Mountain Festival on Saturday, 6 September, and continues at Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge on Thursday, 11 September, Sydney’s Bootleggers on Friday, 12 September, and wraps with a hometown show at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on Saturday, 20 September. Tickets are available now.

In March, MUDRAT dropped the ferocious track LAST NIGHT, positioning himself perfectly for fans of acts such as System Of A Down, Idles, or Genesis Owusu. In April, he dropped the incendiary anti-capitalism anthem, YOU DON’T CARE ABOUT POOR PEOPLE.

2025 has also seen MUDRAT open for Denzel Curry in Melbourne and sign to Select Music Booking Agency in January.

That news that arrived just weeks after the release of December’s YEAR OF THE RAT, another piece of explosive music which helped to cement MUDRAT’s status as one of the names you need to be paying attention to in 2025 – something which was confirmed by his inclusion in in NME’s list of the 100 Essential Emerging Artists Of 2025.
