Naarm punk/hip hop artist MUDRAT has kicked off 2025 in a big way, announcing his signing to Select Music Booking Agency this week.

The signing comes off the back of a huge debut year for the musician, who has turned heads thanks to his refreshingly brutal mix of powerful instrumentation and intense lyrics which are as resonant as they are forceful. Now, a signing with Select Music continues to open up more doors for the rising artist.

"I’m incredibly honoured to be working with Jimmy Kleiner & Casey O'Shaughnessy. They are both consummate professionals yet equally great people,” MUDRAT says of the signing.

“Select has a storied history of working & succeeding in the best interests of their artists. Finally, as an independent agency, the choice was always simple."

MUDRAT made his debut in late 2023 with MUD, he instantly commanded the attention of the masses thanks to his incendiary live show and blistering tunes.

Tracks like I HATE RICH CUNTS and December’s YEAR OF THE RAT showcases the power and energy that MUDRAT possesses, with a growing list of live appearances – including events such as BIGSOUND, and support slots for the likes of BARKAA – helping to bring his music and message to more and more across the country.

With a signing to Select Music, it’s clear that the year of the rat won’t be ending any time soon.
