Mmm... convenience

The Frankston-based retail storefront of renowned indie label Obese Records will shut its doors in the near future as the company makes a move to become an online-only prospect in early 2015.

As the Aussie hip-hop-centric label, which is home to artists such as Thundamentals, Pegz, Dialectrix, Simplex and Plutonic Lab, among others, prepares to transition its music and apparel catalogues exclusively to the internet, its premises at 6 Wells Street, Frankston, will be vacated and sold off.

However, faithful fans needn't let their hearts break too heavily; the new, improved Obese Retail Online promises a streamlined aesthetic and navigation system bolstered by the added convenience of having the entire Obese Records line of releases and merchandise available at your fingertips.

Keep an eye on the Obese Records website for ensuing developments, including final operation dates for the Frankston store and when to expect the label's revitalised online marketplace to fully kick into operation.
