Mastodon well underway with writing of next album

In an interview with Mastodon at the Rockstar Mayhem Energy Festival, Mastodon have stated that they well and truly have enough songs to complete a new album.

Bill Killiher stated that the band has "25, 30 songs ready to go on the new record....We won’t be using all of them, obviously, but we’re in a much better place than we’ve ever been as far as being prepared for pre-production for an album"
