Mashd N Kutcher Go Viral Following Renata Bliss Meme Collab

After years of viral success with classic cuts and esoteric beat drops, Brisbane’s Mashd N Kutcher has one gone global thanks to a recent clip featuring the one and only Renata Bliss.

If you’ve been a connoisseur of internet culture across the last decade, there’s a solid chance you’re across the Renata Bliss meme. It all kicked off around 2015 when a clip of Bliss went viral, complete with the iconic introduction of “Hi I’m Renata Bliss, your freestyle dance teacher,” and the accompanying shots of her frenetic movement.

It’s a staple of online pop culture, and if anything, it makes perfect sense for Mashd N Kutcher to cross paths with the iconic Bliss.

Earlier this year, the Brisbane producer started some promo for new single Make Me Feel by dropping the Renata Bliss meme into the live set, leading to constant calls from fans for a collaboration.

Before long, the plot thickened when clips of someone who appeared to be Bliss appeared on TikTok. Not only did Mashd N Kutcher bestow the honour of making this new account the only one they followed on the video platform, but Matt James even went so far as to put a call-out for fans to determine the veracity of the account.

After this call-out resulted in a connection, Mashd N Kutcher even brought out Bliss at a recent Sydney show, resulting in widespread acclaim across the board. “This is like seeing the second coming of Christ,” one fan wrote on social media.

Since then, more and more clips of Bliss and Mashd N Kutcher have been popping up online, including one video of Bliss and The Wiggles dancing to the newly-released Make Me Feel, which managed to clock up one million views in just a week. Currently, the TikTok upload of Bliss at their Sydney show boasts a massive 4.5 million views alone.

Currently, Bliss and Mashd N Kutcher have reportedly been in the studio working on a song together, but it remains to be seen when it’ll arrive, or how suited to the world of freestyle dance it will be.

Mashd N Kutcher first emerged in 2012, with their unique approach to electronic music swiftly making them a sensation not just in Australia, but on a global scale.

In recent yeats, James was sidelined with a cancer diagnosis, but has managed to make a courageous recovery and has since returned to the world of music, with Mashd N Kutcher’s debut album, Legacy, arriving in December.
