Their iconic track Get On The Beers was the soundtrack to the nation’s collective release from lockdown, so it’s only fitting that Mashd N Kutcher would farewell Dan Andrews in style.
Andrews announced his resignation this week as the Victorian Premier after nearly nine years in office — two of those famously being during the pandemic — leading Mashd N Kutcher to remix the infamous track that landed them a spot at number 12 on the 2020 Triple J Hottest 100.

Posted to Instagram alongside the caption “farewell @danielandrewsmp,” the remix begins with a clip of Andrews saying his now-iconic phrase, “Are we right to go?” before splicing in parts of his recent resignation speech.
“Nine years ago, I visited the pub. Today I will again visit the pub and resign as Premier, effective 5pm tomorrow, thoughts of what life will be like after this job have started to creep in,” the hilarious clip continues.
“That's not appropriate, it's time to step away rapidly. However, I will guarantee that Victorian is across the state will have a pub to call home. After all, what can be more important than that?”
“In terms of what I'm going to do next, I'm going to play better golf. I'm going to go through what will be a fairly challenging pile of strong beers. If you're going to do it, do it properly, but I'm looking forward to spending literally every waking moment thinking about the beers.”
“I've always been profoundly grateful for the honour and privilege of leading this very special place. That's my civic duty. That's what's most important, and that's what must be done,” Andrews says before the legendary Get On The Beers drop makes its way into the track.
Fans were loving the surprise mix, with one commenting, “YESSS an absolute god-tier farewell.”
Another added, “Such a fitting tribute 🍻 🍻”
Some followers even admitted that they had only found out about Andrews’ resignation through Mashd N Kutcher’s post, with one exclaiming, “It’s ridiculous that @mashdnkutcher was how I first heard about this - now requesting that all breaking news be delivered in remix form.”
Another added, “No way I find out we’re losing Dan as Premier in a MEME?!?”
