"There is one artist that I worship more than anything in life, and I would love to collaborate with him, and that’s Kendrick Lamar. His new record is, like, history-making, mind-bogglingly brilliant, insane."

More Madonna More Madonna

Madonna has outed herself as a massive Kendrick Lamar stan. The pop icon revealed that she "worships" the rapper and would "love to collaborate" with him. Madonna made the statements during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Responding to a question from Fallon regarding dream collaborators, Maddona put her fandom for Lamar on full display.

"There is one artist that I worship more than anything in life, and I would love to collaborate with him, and that’s Kendrick Lamar. His new record is, like, history-making, mind-bogglingly brilliant, insane."

Madonna was making the appearance to promote her new greatest hits package, Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones, but as is her custom on Fallon appearances, she very promptly went off-script, openly discussing a number of topics ranging from her upcoming biopic to her recent remixes of Beyoncé and Saucy Santana right through to her grills which were proudly on display throughout the interview.

Speaking about the grills, Madonna offered "I just got these new grills, and if I start lisping, will you tell me? I’ll take the bottoms out." She also explained that people seem to have an issue with her grills, which she proudly designed herself.

“People have a problem with my grills. I don’t know why… I just like the way it looks. It’s mouth jewelry. And I have really ugly teeth.”

Madonna also participated in the 'naughty word game' with Fallon, with hilarious results.

Madonna also opened up about the early days of her career,  when she felt powerless and stripped of agency when it came to her artistry. Speaking about her then labels resistance to releasing Like A Virgin as a single she shared.

“Those were the days when I had no say in anything. Can you imagine those days even existing?” “It wasn’t the song itself, it was my performance on the first MTV Awards.” “I got the bottom and I started dancing around and my white stiletto pumps fell off.”  “My butt was showing. Can you imagine? Those were the days when you shouldn’t show your butt to have a career. Now it’s the opposite."
