Listen Out festival will return this year, as confirmed on social media today (12 June).

In a sneaky move, all posts have been deleted from the EDM and hip-hop festival’s social media platforms, while the biography section of the festival account’s Instagram page teases a 2025 event.

“SIGN UP FOR LISTEN OUT ’25 👀,” the Listen Out bio reads. You can sign up for updates here.

Amping up the teasing, the festival shared a cheeky Instagram Story of a payphone ringing and the sign-up link. It’s possible that the payphone—and a sticker of the Brazilian flag plastered on it—are hints for the 2025 event.

Last year’s Listen Out took place in September and October. It featured the Australian festival debuts of 21 SavageTeezo Touchdown, Jessie Reyez, and Jazzy, and starred favourites such as John Summit, Skepta, Lil Tjay, Sub Focus, The Blessed Madonna, Miss Kaninna, Lithe, and more.

After sharing its line-up in June, Listen Out returned with a big social media flex to confirm the 2024 event was “100% ON.”

Organisers stated: “We’re ON! Many of you have asked, so we wanted to let you know: Listen Out is 100% ON! Don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere.”

The messaging backed their statement upon announcing the line-up, in which they reflected on the tumultuous times for Australian festivals that had resulted in the cancellations of longstanding events such as Splendour In The Grass and Groovin’ The Moo, as well as the hiatuses of Spilt Milk and Dark Mofo.

Listen Out said last June, “It’s been a very tough time for the Australian music festival industry, and we are thrilled to be back in 2024, welcoming returning and first-time attendees through the gates.”

Last year’s events took place at Scoresby’s Caribbean Gardens, Perth’s HBF Arena, Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds, and Sydney’s Centennial Park. Listen In also occurred last year at Adelaide’s Ellis Park and Auckland’s Go Media Stadium.
