Listen Out festival organisers have given punters an essential message after a strong response to its launch earlier this month: this year’s event is “100% on”.

Providing certainty with a big social media flex, Listen Out is stamping its mark on the 2024 calendar.

“We're ON! Many of you have asked, so we wanted to let you know: Listen Out is 100% ON! Don't worry, we're not going anywhere.”

Listen Out organisers previously said ahead of this year’s events, which take place this September and October: “It’s been a very tough time for the Australian music festival industry, and we are thrilled to be back in 2024, welcoming returning and first-time attendees through the gates.”

The security of Listen Out going ahead reflects Australians’ current preference for genre festivals with EDM and hip hop events showing strong growth across the country. By platforming the hottest EDM and hip-hop artists, Listen Out is aiming to hit the sweet spot of what fans want to hear.

Purple Sneakers recently dug into the Creative Australia Soundcheck report, where it was discovered that EDM festivals are the most popular events going ahead, making up 23% of all music festivals and showing the way forward for promoters.

This year’s edition of Listen Out is no exception, staying true to its punters’ while also delivering some welcome surprises.

Listen Out 2024 is led by revisiting EDM star John Summit and an abundance of first-timers to Australia, including 21 SavageTylaTeezo TouchdownFlo MilliJessie Reyez, and Jazzy.

Folamour – who the festival teased in videos ahead of the official line-up drop – is also on the bill, as well as Skepta, Lil Tjay, and Sub Focus with a special visual-filled set celebrating new album EvolveThe Blessed Madonna, homegrown talent including Miss Kaninna, Lithe, and more.
