Kylie is coming to Netflix.

The Spinning Around pop music sensation has joined the cast of The Residence, the newest series from Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes

She’s not the only Aussie on the crew, with Brett Tucker (McLeod’s Daughters, The Saddle Club) playing the Australian Foreign Minister. Nathan Lovejoy and Ros Gentle have also signed up for the series.

The Residence, a drama/comedy, or “screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House,” per Variety, is currently in production. The publication also reports that Minogue will play herself.

The official synopsis reads, “132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous State Dinner. The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion.”

The Residence is led by Orange Is The New Black star Uzo Aduba, 3rd Rock From The Sun’s Jane Curtin, and the 2018 A Star Is Born’s Rebecca Field.

A few months ago, it was revealed that Minogue was back in the studio working on new music.

“I've been making albums now for over 30 years, but each one is a different journey. I'm ready for new music,” she was quoted as saying by the UK newspaper The Sun.

She continued, "I can't reveal what the sound is yet, but it is all super exciting. It's always a challenge to find that next sound.

"My last album [Disco, released in 2020] was mostly made during lockdown. To be back in the studio with some of my favourite people is simply a joy."

Kylie Minogue delighted fans with Disco, a return to her pop roots following her 2018 country pop-inspired record, Golden. She last toured Australia in 2019.

Minogue’s work in the studio led to a dance-pop collaboration with Oliver Heldens in the form of 10 Out Of 10, released earlier this month. Check it out below.
