Kylie Minogue has treated fans to a glimpse of her upcoming Neighbours return.

The pop icon has shared a couple of on-set selfies with co-star and former on-screen lover, Jason Donovan via Facebook.

The happy-snaps mark the first time the duo have been seen in Ramsay St together since Minogue’s character Charlene Robinson left the show in 1988.

Minogue’s post, which can be seen below,  also includes a picture of the Ramsay St. street sign, signed by herself and Donovan.

The duos' on-screen romance captivated audiences across the globe in the 1980s, their 1987 wedding episode is considered essential viewing for Neighbours fans and was watched by over 2 million Australians upon its original broadcast.

Now Scott and Charlene Robinson will return to the fictional cul-de-sac community of Ramsay Street in Melbourne for one last trip down memory lane.

As we reported earlier this year, Neighbours which began in 1985, will cease production in June after being dropped by its broadcaster.  Speaking on the return of Scott and Charlene to Ramsay St, Executive Producer Jason Herbison stated,

"The ultimate Neighbours couple and it would not feel right to end the show without them.

“We are thrilled that Jason and Kylie have come home to play a very special part in our series finale. It has been an emotional experience for them, for us, and I’m sure it will be for our viewers.”

After the announcement that the soap would be cancelled, Minogue said she would be “forever grateful for the experience and the friends I made on Neighbours".

“We had no idea how big the show would become and how passionately viewers would take it to heart," she said.

Donovan also said, "I think it’s time to celebrate Neighbours. It has kept my family employed for a long time, to be honest. My daughter is currently in it, my dad was in it. I think we should be grateful for what it’s given Australia, it’s given actors, producers, writers, directors.”

In February, when the future of the cult-adored show was in the balance, UK fans took matters into their own hands via a social media campaign, sending the original theme by Barry Crocker back to #1 on the UK iTunes Singles Chart, knocking Ed Sheeran’s 'The Joker And The Queen' from the top spot.
