‘Neighbours’ Claims UK #1 As Disgruntled Soap Fans Unite

#saveneighbours, please.

With Ramsay Street in distress as the future of Neighbours hangs in the balance, UK-based fans of the iconic Aussie soap have taken matters into their own hands.

As highlighted by TV Tonight, a social media campaign by fans overseas has seen the show’s original theme by Gold Logie winner Barry Crocker shoot back to #1 on the UK iTunes Singles Chart, knocking Ed Sheeran’s The Joker And The Queen from the top spot.

Entertainment journalist Peter Ford said that he “rang and broke the news” to Crocker this morning and he was “absolutely thrilled”.

The song, which was written by Tony Hatch and Jackie Trent, was used on Neighbours until 1992.
