"I keep getting drawn back to pop music."
The long-awaited fifth studio album from Brisbane favourite Kate Miller-Heidke will arrive on October 30.
Described as “possibly her most pop album yet”, Child In Reverse marks the singer-songwriter’s first album in six years, following on from O Vertigo! in 2014, and contains previous single This Is Not Forever and new cut, Deluded, which has also been revealed today.
"I keep getting drawn back to pop music," Miller-Heidke said.
"The minimalism, the economy… I find that incredibly rewarding and challenging. It's like a quest to nail the perfect pop song. When it can be done, for me, as a listener, it's my favourite music."
Deluded is “an instant pop crush of effortless, gently compulsive groove” and is accompanied by a music video directed by Jeff Anderson Jnr and Nick Mckk.

It’s not surprising that Miller-Heidke’s songwriter has evolved since the release of O Vertigo!, given her extensive theatre work with productions such as Muriel's Wedding and epic journey to Eurovision last year.
You can catch Kate Miller-Heidke live this weekend via Delivered, Live, performing on a talent-packed bill that also features dance pop duo The Merindas, Aussie hip hop favourites N'fa and Mantra and more.
Child In Reverse is available for pre-order now.
