John FarnhamWith an unauthorised biography on John Farnham set for release soon, talks of creating a TV biopic based on the Aussie icon are starting to heat up and the singer is happy for it to ahead, as long as he isn't around to see it.
As the Herald Sun reports, the telemovie would follow in the footsteps of the hugely successful INXS, Molly Meldrum and Peter Allen series and in classic Farnsey fashion, the 67-year-old says he doesn't want it to happen until he has carked it.
Farnham reportedly told his manager Glenn Wheatley, "I don’t want people writing books and making shows about me. Can’t they wait until I’m gone? Tell them to do all that when I’m dead".
Wheatley called Farnham's response to the question as "typical John black humour".
"He is not a big supporter of books and films coming out, which are essentially unauthorised," Wheatley said.
"But there’s nothing he can do about it. There’s nothing we can do about it. He’s philosophical about it."
However, when questioned as to whether any pitches or scripts for a telemovie were floating around, Wheatley reportedly responded with a smile, "There could have been".
Author Jeff Apter’s book on Farnham, Playing To Win, is to be released this October.
