"Everyone is thinking of all affected by the floods and the huge task ahead. Stay safe.”
Jimmy Barnes has shared a powerful message of support to flood victims via an “emotional” performance of You’ll Never Walk Alone.
The Aussie legend, joined by wife Jane, daughter EJ, son-in-law Jimmy and grandson Teddy, offered up the Gerry & The Pacemakers classic following a request from Ballina Shire Council Mayor Sharon Cadwallader, whose region has been devastated by the ongoing floods.
“We did this song a while back but it’s been requested by the Mayor of Ballina so here it is You’ll Never Walk Alone,” Barnes said.
“This might help lift your spirits, everyone is thinking of all affected by the floods and the huge task ahead. Stay safe.”
You can watch the performance below, which has been described by fans as “emotional” and has racked up over 250K views since it was published.
Since the pandemic began, the Barnes family has been kept busy with regular live-streamed performances and other endeavours, including Jimmy and Jane’s cookbook Where The River Bends, which was nominated in the 2022 Indie Book Awards.
