Aussie rock icon Jimmy Barnes is set to make an appearance at this year’s Blues On Broadbeach festival, today (February 20) announcing that he will be performing his beloved album Soul Deep exclusively at the Queensland event.

The Gold Coast’s favourite (and only) blues festival, Blues On Broadbeach is set to take over Kurrawa Park from May 15-18. Headlining alongside Barnes will be ARIA award winning act, The Cruel Sea, American singer-songwriter Eli Paperboy Reed, and Aussie rockers Diesel

Speaking on his upcoming appearance at the festival, Barnes said, “It’s always great to go back to my roots and sing the songs I listened to as a young performer learning to sing. Soul Deep has meant a lot in my life and every time the band and I get to revisit these songs, it’s a great time for us and the audience”.

Experience Gold Coast Festival Director Mark Duckworth called Blues on Broadbeach’s 2025 iteration “the perfect lineup”, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Jimmy Barnes’ special one-off Soul Deep show to Blues on Broadbeach. Soul Deep introduced a generation of Australians to artists such as Isaac Hayes, Sam Cooke, Al Green, Wilson Pickett - and I can't wait to hear these songs live in the streets of Broadbeach.”

Other powerhouses set to grace the Gold Coast stage are Steph Strings, Bondi Cigars, The Harlem Gospel Travelers, The Meltdown, and Stefan Hauk. The line-up also includes the likes of Queenie, Pete Cornelius, Rod Paine & the Fulltime Lovers, Sammy Owen Blues Band, Scott Browne, Beretta and Sullivan, Rhiannon Simpson, Alphastomp, Majelen, Don Hopkins, Jamie Lamont, and Billy K Blues Band.

Though Blues On Broadbeach is primarily a free, non-ticketed event, punters will have to fork out some cash to see Barnes live at the exclusive Kurrawa Park show on the Sunday. Tickets for the event range from $129 to $179 per person, and go on sale at 9am AEST on February 26 here.
