Jimmy Barnes will feature on tonight’s episode of Days Like These With Diesel, airing at 8:30pm on ABC TV Plus and ABC iView, sitting down with host and brother-in-law Mark Lizotte, aka Diesel, to share his recollections of his acclaimed Sydney Opera House performance.

The Cold Chisel legend conquered a heart attack and heart surgery before putting on a remarkable show at the iconic venue.

"I think you’ll agree that Diesel has been doing a fantastic job hosting Days Like These, taking us all through memorable Aussie concerts that are markers in our lives," Barnes said.

"Tonight we go through one of my gigs at the Opera House."

Jet’s 2004 performance at The Forum kicked things off last month before Baby Animals, Hunters & Collectors, The Angels, Diesel and Rose Tattoo were featured in episodes two to six.

Following Barnes tonight, Eurogliders, Archie Roach, Icehouse, Troy Cassar-Daley and Cold Chisel will take focus later in the year.

When the series was first announced, Lizotte said: “Days Like These…with Diesel has been an absolute delight and honour to host.

“The series brings together some of the most quintessential Australian bands from the past few decades, that help define our nation’s recent music past, and celebrates important, moments in their concert history."

The 12 episodes feature a mix of archival footage and interviews to revisit Australia's most iconic concerts and tell the stories behind them.

Lizotte chats to the people who were at these seminal shows, from band members, tour managers as well as musicians from other groups in attendance. He explores the reasons that these concerts were such memorable events, showcasing the unique circumstances that led to each of the shows.
