In a statement, Barnes said of the forthcoming tour, “I’m really looking forward to getting back on stage with my band again. I’m so proud of this new record – all the songs mean a lot to me, and I can’t wait to share them with you. It’s going to be some serious fun!”
Defiant is set to be one of Barnes’ rawest and most moving albums. Tomorrow, a music video for New Day—starring Australian country music icon Troy Cassar-Daley and Laurel Edwards—directed by Paul van Kan will be released. Meanwhile, Beyond The River Bend is inspired by Barnes’ family home in the Southern Highlands of NSW, where the saying “hope keeps flowing like water” seeps into his music.
The Defiant tour comes after Cold Chisel sold over 150,000 tickets on their recent The Big Five-O Australian tour, celebrating 50 years of pioneering Aussie rock music.
