The track forms part of the next Third Man Records Blue Series of singles
Venerated Aussie singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett has teamed up with iconic troubadour Jack White acting as producer to release a pair of singles for the latter's Third Man Records Blue Series of singles, with the output's B-side featuring a stunning cover of Rowland S Howard's classic cut Shivers.
On the A-side, Barnett has recorded Boxing Day Blues Revisited, an epilogue of sorts to Boxing Day Blues, the closing track from the troubadour's acclaimed LP Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit. In making the announcement, Third Man lauded Barnett as "a sharp singer-songwriter-guitarist who has quickly made her mark on garage-pop fans worldwide with her witty, self-deprecating, and authentic observations turned into raw, stream-of-consciousness lyrics and blunt melodies".
Give Barnett's rejig of Shivers a burl below — her limited-edition 7" vinyl is out via Third Man next Friday 16 October — and don't forget that she's out on the road for a handful of Falls Festival/Southbound sideshows in January.
