Illuminate Adelaide will shower light over South Australia this winter.
Kiasmos (Marcus Byrne)
In South Australia, crisp, chilly winter nights are synonymous with Illuminate Adelaide, the annual celebratoion of art, light, music, and technology that glitters across the city streets all throughout July.
Illuminate Adelaide is a rallying cry to reject hibernation. The city-wide spectacle of free and ticketed events is “a beacon calling to all of us to stay up, head out, look forward, break ground, dance hard, and make memories.”
And the first show of the series has just been announced.

The Faroese-Icelandic minimal experimental techno duo Kiasmos are set to perform under the iconic chandelier at Hindley Street Music Hall on Friday, July 18th.
Kiasmos, who first formed in 2009, is composed of the Grammy-nominated composer Ólafur Arnalds and musician Janus Rasmussen. They released their first EP, Thrown, in 2012 and their self-titled album Kiasmos in 2014. The duo has since taken the world by storm with their captivating music and their electrifying live presence.
Set to tour across Australia all throughout July, the two musicians make what they describe as “emotional rave.” Their latest album, II, was released in 2024, and, according to The Guardian, the music will have you “crying tears of joy on the dance floor.” What better way to spend a winter night?
The presale for tickets opens tomorrow, on March 26th. Subscribe for presale access here.
