Just days after Nick Cave himself teased the big news, it’s confirmed: Australian art rock heroes Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are coming home.

In January and February 2026, the band will bring their celebrated live production, the Wild God Tour, to massive venues across Australia and New Zealand, for their first shows in the region since 2017.

Beginning the run at Fremantle Park on Saturday, 17 January, the shows continue at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, 20 January, two nights at The Domain, Sydney, on Friday, 23 January, and Saturday, 24 January, Brisbane’s Victoria Park on Tuesday, 27 January, and concludes with three shows at Nick Cave’s home city of Melbourne: Friday, 30 January, Saturday, 31 January, and Sunday, 1 February, at the Alexandra Gardens.

In addition to the Australian shows, the band will perform exclusive New Zealand shows in association with the 2026 Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts. The shows will take place at Wellington’s TSB Arena on Thursday, 5 February, and Friday, 6 February.

Tickets to all shows will be available on Friday, 29 August, at 10 am local time via Nick Cave’s website.

Discussing the band’s monumental return to Australia and New Zealand, Cave said: “I can’t wait to get to Australia and New Zealand with The Bad Seeds and to bring you our epic Wild God show. It’s been a long time coming, and I’ve missed both Australia and New Zealand very much. It will be a wild and mighty joy.”

The Wild God Tour comprises many of the songs from the album of the same name, released in 2024. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t hear classic Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds tunes. Recent setlists include beloved songs such as Jubilee Street, From Her To Eternity, Red Right Hand, The Mercy Seat, The Weeping Song, and Into My Arms.

Reviewing the band’s show at Perth Arena in 2017, The Music’s Hurb Jephasun set the scene: “Cave rose from his stool and moved closer to his adoring audience. At times, almost disappearing into the crowd, he appeared to be some manic preacher intent on whipping his congregation into a fervent religious frenzy, their hands desperately reaching out of the darkness to touch his greatness, and he, in return, reaching out to touch theirs.”
