Duran Duran, Eminem, Pat Benetar and The Eurythmics topped the list.

The results of the 2022 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame fan ballot are in, with over five million fans voting in the poll.

First-time nominees Duran Duran topped the list of votes, with 934,000 votes, followed by Eminem, who is the only artist to be nominated in his first year of eligibility. He placed second with a whopping 684,000 votes. He was followed by Pat Benetar, with 634,000 votes.

The Eurythmics placed fourth with approximately 440,00 votes, followed by Dolly Parton. Last month, Parton turned down her 2022 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame nomination, stating that she doesn't "feel that I have earned that right."

She stated that the nomination "inspired me to put out a hopefully great rock’n’roll album at some point in the future, which I have always wanted to do!"

In a new interview with NPR however, she said that she would "gracefully" accept the nomination.

"I would just say thanks and I'll accept it because the fans vote. But when I said that, it was always my belief that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was for the people in rock music, and I have found out lately that it's not necessarily that.

"But if they can't go there to be recognised, where do they go? So I just felt like I would be taking away from someone that maybe deserved it, certainly more than me, because I never considered myself a rock artist. But obviously, there's more to it than that."

The fan ballot does not guarantee that the chosen artists will be inducted, rather the top five artists as selected by the public will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the official 2022 inductees.

The full list of inductees will be revealed on Wednesday the 4th of May, with an induction ceremony in Spring.
