Harvest Rock Festival, the brand-new two-day event for Adelaide, celebrated its inaugural edition last November.

The festival brought international heavy-hitters Jack White, Sam Fender, The Black Crowes, Kurt Vile and Hot Chip alongside local royalty Tones & I, Goanna, Genesis Owusu, The Living End, Courtney Barnett, Ruby Fields and many more to Rymill & King Rodney Parks.

This Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 October, Harvest Rock will return to Rymill & King Rodney Parks with a line-up organised by Secret Sounds.

While the line-up hasn’t arrived with the announcement of the festival’s return, organisers are teasing “an A team of international and Australian artists” to head down under later this year.

Last year’s run offered killer cuisine and “innovative” bars alongside art installations, with organisers promising that Harvest Rock is “just as much about the food as it is the music”.

“The inaugural Harvest Rock exceeded all our expectations,” Secret Sounds co-CEO and Harvest Rock producer, Jessica Ducrou, said in a statement.

Ducrou added, “The vibes were certainly high and we’re so grateful to Adelaide’s music lovers along with music lovers from across the country for embracing the event. We’re excited to follow up with Harvest Rock 2023 in October, bringing more great music to Adelaide and highlighting all that South Australia has to offer.”

The line-up will drop at some point next month.

While Crowded House and Texas musical trio Khruangbin closed day two last year, it was the UK sensation Sam Fender who had the Adelaide punters begging for an encore.

“Closing out the night on their latest album’s title track, Fender and friends leave the stage to a chorus of singing, the audience desperate for an encore that never comes as they sink further into the mud,” The Music concluded in a review of the event. “Both Fender’s and Harvest Rock’s first Adelaide appearance was a triumph according to the rain-soaked crowd left singing for more.”
