Gyroscope to headline benefit gig in hometown Perth

More Gyroscope More Gyroscope

Perth punks Gyroscope haven't played all that many headline shows so far this year, but they've found good reason to change that in a few weeks time, bringing the people of their home city a special headline show in honour of a special cause.

Dana Vulin, the 26-year-old cousin of the band's guitarist Zoran Trivic, fell victim to a horrendous crime a couple of months ago when an intruder broke into her home confronting her and dousing her body in methylated spirits, then setting her alight.

This premeditated attack has left Dana with burns to 60 percent of her body and traumatised, not to mention with some enormous bills for medical treatment, rehabilitation and legal fees.

This benefit is the brainchild of  Trivic:, who said of the fund-raiser: "What has happened to my cousin Dana is beyond words, and never in our lives have we felt stronger about doing a benefit show."

The band will be hitting up the Rosemount Hotel in Perth for a massive show alongside The Scotch Of St James and Boston & Chevy on Friday 1 June, with all funds raised going to Dana and her family. Tickets are available through OzTix from Monday morning for $35 apiece
