GIVEAWAY: Music Maker Blues Revue Tickets

Sydney and Melbourne audiences are in for a real treat this week.

You won't see a more inspiring, a more real and a more enjoyable blues show this year that the Music Maker Blues Revue, we're calling it now. The not-for-profit organisation that goes out and finds great blues artists who are struggling financially have been bringing artists over to Australia for a number of years now, but the line-up for this show is probably their best yet.

Ironing Board Sam has been in the game for almost 55 years now; one of his early bands featured Jimi Hendrix on guitar, he cut a stack of singles for the likes of Atlantic and Holiday Inn Records and his unique method of performing always gets people talking.

We already spoke at length about Dr Burt over at this blog; but we must reiterate that a guy who's been shot in the hand and sent to jail for five years where he had to fight to survive has a pretty damn good reason to sing the blues. It's a good thing he does it so well.

A little zydeco makes its way into the Music Maker family courtesy of the great and multi-talented Major Handy, one of the more prolific artists on the line up and one who will probably get the people dancing like no one else. He's a skilled accordion player and guitarist and will lead the band with aplomb, we've no doubt.

Pat Wilder is one of the really great electric blues guitarists going around at the moment, and she has one hell of a voice as well. She has skills in the forms of jazz, blues, r'n'b, gospel and more and she'll bring everything she's got to this great show.

This is truly a show that shouldn't be missed and, lucky for you, we have double passes to give away in Sydney and Melbourne! To enter, just put your details into the form below. Entrants will be subscribed to our daily newsletter Your Daily SPA. The show dates are as follows:
