Or just say really nice things about us, either is fine
We talk about Australian music around here a lot.
It's not just hot air, either — we really do love the tunes that get created in all corners of our big, burnt land, and the annual #AusmusicTshirtDay initiative is a brilliant way for fans to wear their pride publicly in a dedicated effort to lift up and highlight the country's best musical artists.
Sure, there's no good reason why every day can't be Ausmusic T-shirt Day — and, frankly, for many of us, that's pretty much the case — but there's something about a unified effort that really makes it feel more significant than usual, you know?
Now, we have to be honest here: there were a few loose and/or forgetful interpretations of the rules in our Melbourne office — you'll note assistant editor Sam Wall sporting a makeshift Babaganouj T-shirt (back, far right) along with boss-man Leigh Treweek in a "pretend Alex Lahey" piece (front, second from left) and, perhaps most egregiously, the very, very British presence of The Pipettes courtesy of our very, very British arts editor, Maxim Boon (back, third from left) — but overall, there's a pretty aurally diverse set of emergent and well-established Aussie artists being championed here.

Besides, we just thought it would be a nice way for you all to put some faces to names and get to know a little more about our personal tastes.
So, here we go…
"I'm repping a Horrorshow tee. They're creative in wordplay, insightful in content and redefine how rap music is listened to in our industry."
[Is wearing The Pipettes because he thinks he is still in England — next year, Max!]
"I'm wearing Melbourne-based band Alpine. Their very first album, A Is For Alpine, is one of my favs — excellent indie-pop album. Full of earworms that just get right in there."
"I'm wearing Wolf & Cub because it was on top of the washing pile and also I miss them."
"Oh, I'm wearing The Birthday Party 'coz I'm old..."
"Parkway Drive. I remember Parkway Drive coming to Wollongong just before they dropped Killing With A Smile — and playing to a room of about 200 people. With the energy of the show they put on, they cemented themselves as one of the best live Australian acts I've seen to this day."
"I am repping a pretend Alex Lahey T-shirt because her manager is such a ripping guy, I wish I could be him."
[Made his own Babaganouj shirt out of some other apparel and one of our magazine covers — DIY DEDICATION.]
"I can't afford band merch, so I'm forced to wear an Icehouse shirt. BUT. It's not his band shirt. It's the Miller Brewing company T-shirt. #protestingparentalembarrassment"
"Icehouse, because Mum stole all my John Farnham shirts. Also Electric Blue is one of the country's best tracks."
[Is technically repping all of Sydney, and looking ridiculously cool while she's at it.]
"Nitocris. One of those ones where a long-past but fondly remembered band pops into your head for no discernible reason, but you're glad they did and the timing of these guys recently becoming a brief, rockin' earworm for coincided nicely with deciding what T-shirt to wear today."
"I am repping a Ben Lee half-page horizontal advertisement, because I don't have a band shirt and it has our logo on it. #marketing"
"The Hard Aches are one of the best live acts going around. Get on it!"
"Ask me about HANNAHBAND. No, really. No, really really… Oh. Are— are you sure? It's no trouble, seriously. I have these pre-made slides, and it should really only take two, two-and-a-half hours, tops."
