Drum Media Perth Editor Scores Two WAMi Nominations

After theMusic.com.au was nominated for Most Popular Website, Drum Media's editor Aarom Wilson has also picked up two nominations and the magazine one.

Nominations for the public-voted awards were revealed earlier today, with theMusic.com.au honoured with a nomination and San Cisco leading the way for the artists.

In a launch event held at The Bakery tonight, the remainder of the nominations, for the craft and industry-voted awards, were announced.

Published by theMusic.com.au's publisher Street Press Australia, The Drum Media's editor Aarom Wilson has picked up nominations in the Media Award - Individual category and the main gong, the Golden WAMi.

The magazine itself has been nominated in the Media Award - Organisation category.

Tonight also saw the launch of the Kiss My WAMi 3CD/DVD, which features over 60 established and emerging artists from Perth - including San Cisco, Boom! Bap! Pow, Ruby Boots and Emperors. 5,000 copies of the disc are produced each year and distributed to media, industry and government. The disc is available now.

The award night will be held on the closing night of the WAMi Festival, Saturday 2 June at The Bakery. John Butler, Eskimo Joe and Mama Kin will perform on the awards night.
