Field Day, Australia’s biggest New Year’s Day festival, has expanded ahead of its return in 2027.
Today, the event has unveiled its final headliner for next year’s event: homegrown dance export Mall Grab joins the already-announced headliners Major Lazer – performing in Australia for the first time in 11 years – alongside drum and bass heroes Sub Focus.
Mall Grab takes to the Field Day stage after performing at Overtone Festival on the Gold Coast and Fragrance at Carriageworks, Sydney this month, Tomorrowland CORE in Melbourne next month, and the New Zealand festivals, Lakes and Rhythm & Vines, in December.
The Newcastle-born producer made his breakthrough in 2015 with the EP, Feel U. Over a decade later, Mall Grab has developed a catalogue of dance-floor heaters and become a key tastemaker of the global tech-house and rave music scene.
He’s worked with Turnstile’s Brendan Yates on multiple occasions, including his 2020 EP Share A View and on his acclaimed debut album, What I Breathe, released in 2022. Mall Grab has continued to release hits, from 2023’s Everything to 2024’s iluv with his wife, Effy.
With the addition of Mall Grab, Field Day has secured an exciting line-up of dance music. Beyond its headliners, the festival has locked in English DJ and producer Andy C, fellow Brit Elderbrook, German-Iraqi producer and DJ Boys Noize, Sydney’s own Club Angel, Scottish DJ, producer and label boss Hannah Laing, Berlin-based producer Funk Tribu, Melbourne gooner-pop duo 2charm, and much more.
Tickets to the festival are now available.
Field Day isn’t a camping festival; it’s a joyous one-day event in the heart of the Sydney CBD. It’s set to host 100% dance music across three stages, including the Casamigos Camp Ground, which is proudly curated by the LGBTQIA+ community.
