It's just over a week until the festival begins!
The Bluesfest team aren't quite sure where to stop, by the sounds of things, confirming to us that they have added a series of new performances in their brand new Lotus Palace spiegeltent type stage, including a few shows from brand new announcements!
Added to the bill to perform in the Lotus Palace are legendary Aussie rocker Russell Morris, classic Australian singer Christine Anu, up and coming folk favourite Thelma Plum, didgeribone master Tjupurru, Darwin based singer Leah Flanagan, Airileke - a Melbourne producer whose music posseses a PNG flavour and burlesque artist Mae Wilde.
The performances from Anu, Plum, Tjupurru, Flanagan and Airileke will also serve as the official launch of Boomerang, a multi-arts festival that encompasses music, dance, ruituals, traditional arts and other aspects that pay tribute to the heritage of the land and the traditional owners of it.
But that's not all, the festival have signed up a couple of the already booked artists to play an extra set in the Lotus Palace this year, Jon Anderson - the voice of Yes - will perform there on Saturday night, while the great Playing For Change will perform in acoustic mode on the Sunday evening, as will Irish singer-songwriter Damien Dempsey.
