Known for their unique fusion of jazz, extreme metal and absurdist mayhem, US duo Clown Core are heading to Australia for the first (and ostensibly last) time.

Arguably one of the most confounding musical experiences of the past two decades, US duo Clown Core will be making their way down to Australia for the first time this year.
The pair – who are as officially anonymous as they are genre-defying – first made their debut back in 2008, releasing a self-titled record before ostensibly splitting the following year. After an extended period of silence, the duo made their return in 2017, issuing a series of releases since.
Maintaining a cryptic online presence and known for their fusion of jazz, extreme metal and absurdist mayhem, the pair only began playing live back in 2023, with their most recent live show taking place a year ago as part of the 2024 edition of Coachella.
Now, after being announced on the line up for this year’s Dark Mofo festival in nipaluna/Hobart, the duo have announced a full run of Australian dates. Launching in Meanjin/Brisbane on June 4th, the group will hit up Gadigal/Sydney, before their trip to Dark Mofo will be followed by shows in Naarm/Melbourne and Boorloo/Perth.
Notably, the tour poster is a minimal one, with the words “we are never coming back” emblazoned upon it. Though no official explanation has been given for the text, one can ostensibly take it to mean that if you’re considering catching Clown Core on their debut Australian tour, you might not want to hold your breath for a second.
Pre-sales for the forthcoming tour go on sale from 1pm local time on Wednesday, April 16th, with general tickets on sale from 24 hours later.
